Our founder

Built by Those Who Lived It

The VietAmerican Legacy Institute was founded by a survivor, patriot, and community leader who refused to let history be forgotten. Her vision became our mission.

A Legacy Born from Sacrifice

In the years following 1975, a generation of Vietnamese Americans rebuilt their lives in a new land — carrying with them the weight of displacement, the grief of loss, and an unshakeable determination to preserve what they had left behind. From that generation, a visionary came forward with a shared conviction: that the story of the Vietnamese American people must be told, honored, and passed on.

The VietAmerican Legacy Institute was founded not in a boardroom, but in living rooms, community halls, and places of worship across Little Saigon. Its founder was not a politician or celebrity — she was a financial strategist, a patriot, and a mother who understood that memory is the foundation of identity.

Beti Lapson Luu

Founder — VietAmerican Legacy Institute

For Beti Lapson Luu, freedom is not simply a word — it is a deeply personal value that has shaped her life, her convictions, and her commitment to preserving the Vietnamese-American legacy for future generations. Beti came to the United States at just 14 years old. Arriving in a new country at such a young age gave her a profound appreciation for the freedom, opportunities, and possibilities that America offers. Over the years, that appreciation developed into a lifelong love for the United States and a deep respect for its history, founding principles, and the sacrifices made to defend its freedoms. Proud of her Vietnamese heritage and grateful to the country she calls home, Beti holds both the American flag and the yellow flag with three red stripes of the former Republic of Vietnam in the highest regard. Beyond her role as Founder, Beti is a financial, retirement, and tax strategist dedicated to helping individuals, families, and business owners strengthen their financial foundations, protect their assets, and build lasting legacies.

I founded the VietAmerican Legacy Institute because I believe our responsibility does not end with remembering the past. We must educate our children, preserve our history, develop future leaders, and ensure that the next generation understands the true value of freedom.

Carry the Legacy Forward

The founder built this institution so that future generations would never have to ask: what happened? Learn about our mission, or join the movement.
