We are committed to:

VietAmerican Legacy Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history, identity, values, and heritage of Vietnamese American refugees who came to the United States after the BLACK APRIL on April 30, 1975.
Our organization was founded on a simple conviction: the refugee story must not be forgotten.
For the Vietnamese American refugee community, history is not abstract. It is personal. It is the story of loss, survival, escape, sacrifice, rebuilding, and gratitude. It is the story of families who fled communism, sought freedom, and built new lives in the United States while carrying with them the memory of a fallen homeland and the hope of a better future for their children.
VietAmerican Legacy Institute exists to ensure that this legacy is preserved with clarity, dignity, and truth.
The Vietnamese American refugee experience is one of the most important freedom stories in modern history. Our community understands the cost of tyranny because we have lived through its consequences. We know what happens when speech is silenced, property is seized, faith is suppressed, and truth is rewritten by the state.
That experience has shaped a lasting commitment within much of the refugee community to freedom, family, faith, patriotism, strong national defense, and resistance to communist ideology.
VietAmerican Legacy Institute was created to make sure future generations understand history and carry it forward with pride and responsibility.
Our mission is to preserve, protect, and promote the heritage, identity, history, and civic values of Vietnamese American refugees, while educating future generations about the meaning of freedom, the legacy of BLACK APRIL - April 30, 1975, and the enduring importance of gratitude, patriotism, and anti-communist conviction.
We envision a future where younger generations of Vietnamese Americans know their refugee roots, honor the flag and sacrifices of their families, remain grounded in freedom and truth, and continue contributing to the strength and moral character of the United States.
We believe freedom is precious and must be defended.
We are committed to preserving the truth of the refugee experience and the fall of South Vietnam.
We honor America as the nation that gave refuge, opportunity, and liberty to our community.
We protect the distinct identity of Vietnamese American refugees and their descendants.
We believe strong families and intergenerational responsibility are essential to preserving legacy.
We value the spiritual and moral foundations that sustained our community through hardship and rebuilding.
We reject communist ideology and affirm the dignity of free people to live, speak, worship, and build without oppression.
We believe legacy must be carried forward through education, leadership, and community service.
